And if there are other files lost outside the dropbox folder, then again that simply can't happen unless either you or a background program including viruses access those other files. It's simply not possible especially because the update doesn't even know in which folders your projects are. I have had a file on dropbox as backup. My game files were saved in folders on my desktop. Now every single one of them is blank. The project names are still the same but most won't load and those that do have had all the tabs reset to their base like they were brand new.
